The episode also takes the knight's portrayal as a heroic figure and turns it on its head, as the knight is not one of the good guys in this story.
This is not a love story with a happy ending, as both figures bring out the worst in each other. "These two love each other for the wrong reasons, and that's what is happening nowadays in modern relationships," said Mielgo. In an interview with Animated World Network, the animator of the episode, Alberto Mielgo, spoke about how he wanted this episode to be a commentary on toxic relationships. He dances and pirouettes his way to the water before joining his compatriots in their watery graves, a dark end to a short-lived love. Now that he has his hearing, he is susceptible to her charms. At this moment, she cries and breaks down because of what he has done and starts calling out to him. As soon as he calms down, the Siren emerges from the water, a shadow of her former self. When the knight stops by the water's edge to drink some water, his hearing returns and momentarily drives him mad. Something strange starts to happen, and the water bubbles and explodes, turning into blood. He then dumps her body into the water, but this is not the last he'll see of the river Siren. However, he uses this opportunity to knock her out and starts stripping her body of its riches, which causes her to bleed profusely into the water. The tension between them finally reaches its breaking point, and they start to kiss each other at the top of a waterfall, their armor and jewelry contrasting with the beauty of the surrounding nature. The following morning when he wakes, she runs from him, and he chases after her. The Siren follows him onto land and falls asleep next to him in the night. As the story progresses, they begin a sensual and dangerous affair.
